A leaked UK government study has revealed that legalizing cannabis in the UK could raise 200 million pounds or roughly 305.5 million dollars in tax each year.

The study stated that 216 tons of cannabis was smoked the UK in the last year and that 2.2 million people, between the ages of 16 and 59, were believed to have used the drug during that time.

Legalizing marijuana in the UK could save millions in court and police expenses.

A study from the Institute of Social and Economic research concluded that licensing cannabis could raise up to nearly the equivalent of 2 billion dollars a year. But government analysts determined that that was probably an overestimate.
